Brief only reads your calendar. It never adds, changes or deletes anything in it. We don't sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it except with the services that run Brief, listed below.
Who we are
hellobrief is a business of PWMC Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 15239028, registered office 41 Mayflower Way, Beaconsfield, HP9 1UG). PWMC Limited is the data controller for the personal data described here. Contact: hello@hellobrief.io.
Brief reads the calendars on your iPhone that you choose and sends you a short summary of your day by WhatsApp (or Telegram), answers questions you send it about your calendar, and can remind you before meetings.
What we collect, why, and how long we keep it
We use this data to provide the service you've asked for (our lawful basis is performing our contract with you). Optional extras, like reminder details and event notes, are only used if you switch them on.
The website (hellobrief.io) uses no advertising or tracking cookies.
Who else processes it
These companies process data on our behalf, only to run Brief.
Some of these companies are based outside the UK, mainly in the US. Solicitor: confirm the transfer safeguards, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or the UK–US data bridge.
Your rights and deleting your data
Delete everything. In the Brief app, Settings → Delete my data. This removes your account and everything we hold about you straight away. Your calendars on your iPhone aren't touched.
Stop sharing a calendar. Untick it in the app, and its events are removed from our copy at the next sync.
Stop messages. Pause Brief in Settings, or delete your data. You can also block the Brief number in WhatsApp.
Your rights. Under UK data protection law you can see the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it and object to how we use it. Email hello@hellobrief.io and we'll reply within one month.
Complaints. You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk), though we'd like the chance to put things right first.
Children. Brief isn't for anyone under 16.
Changes. If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top and tell you in the app if the change matters.
